Transportation Coordinator

Reports to

Plant Superintendent/Operations Manager

Job Purpose

To ensure safety, production and quality expectations are met.

To ensure all production and safety processes and policies are followed.

To execute daily objectives established by management by directing production employees and monitoring progress of assigned task

Member of plant leadership team and a role model for employees regarding on-the-job behavior, integrity, fairness and positive work attitudes

Umbrella responsibilities of all employees:

  • Assist and support implementation of EHS initiatives and strategies to reduce risk including but not limited to the areas of: OSHA, ergonomics, injury / illness reduction, hazard communication, environmental, emergency preparedness, and general employee safety

  • Supports LIFE areas, Safety Leading Indicators and Global Program Elements

  • Ensures a clean and safe work environment

  • Adhering to Company and Plant policies and guidelines

  • Working safely and looking out for the safety of those around them

  • Following Safe Reliable Methods (SRMs) or Recycling Safety Verification Process (RSVP)

  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standards

  • Managing controllable costs through proper equipment, tool and consumable usage

  • Reporting any safety or maintenance concerns

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ensure that transportation employees are working in a safe manner

  • Ensure all accounts are serviced in a timely manner per plant policy

  • Ensures the correct methods and procedures are followed per D.O.T rules and remain compliant at all times

  • Ensure that drivers and equipment remain compliant

  • Assign daily routes/duties for drivers

  • Ensure daily reports are accurately completed and submitted as required

  • Maintain DMO

  • Weigh in and out trucks

  • Must maintain accurate records and paperwork

  • Ensure daily plant housekeeping meets plant standards by coordinating housekeeping activities

  • Must be able to work multiple shifts and/or weekends

  • Ensure daily PM sheets are completed

  • Maintain teamwork atmosphere for all employees

  • Coordinates all activities for assigned area to include employee’s understanding of duties, shifting manpower needs, communicating of time constraints & assignments, completing supporting operational paperwork for all areas

  • Maintains smooth, continuous, efficient operation, assisting team in any function/role as needed

  • Other duties as assigned
