International Paper is currently recruiting for New Hires at our Charlotte Container facility located at 5419 Hovis Road.
Successful candidates must be available to work 2nd or 3rd shift
Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment with no air conditioning/heat
Weekend work and overtime as required
A full benefit package
Must pass a pre-employment test
Openings are entry-level positions in the Converting and Corrugator departments.
Assists operators in processing corrugated sheets according to written specifications/diagrams and prepares product for the next operation.
Obtains required waste dunnage for top and bottom protector sheets for units
and load tags for order identification.
Must be able to lift/mount print plates, cutting dies and ink buckets weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. Must be able to safely use wrenches for setting pull collars and slotting/scoring heads.
Constant standing, walking and reaching at or below shoulder level, frequent twisting, bending and lifting from the ground, repetitive lifting up to 20-50 pounds.
Assist in clearing machine jams when necessary.
Completes Helper’s duties when appropriate or instructed.
Performs the “Top Box per Unit” quality check by folding up a box in the open position and checking for quality defects such as; glue joint, print quality, correct folding of all scores, and quality of board.
Responsible to the department supervisor for the quality and quantity of work produced.
Will be trained to operate the Stacker, Double Backer, and Fork Lift
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and safely use some tools.
Assist other machine areas in jam removal and roll preparation.
Constant standing and walking in a hot and humid environment
