International Paper Maintenance E Specialist in EXETER, California
We currently have an opening for an experienced Maintenance Electrician for our Exeter, CA facility. This facility manufactures corrugated packaging products for local and national customers.
We are looking for motivated individuals who are capable of performing a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced production environment. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality and productivity.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Know and follow all company safety policies.
Work independently with results driven mentality.
Plan & execute all work efficiently and on time.
Drive to improve methods, knowledge, tools, and techniques in all aspects of work.
Communicate and coordinate in verbal and written form with coworkers, management, vendors, and contractors as needed to complete work orders.
Utilize SAP for creating notifications, ordering parts, and closing work orders.
Respond to calls off shift to support maintenance emergencies.
Setup, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and operate common industrial electric components including the following:
Control relays, contactors, photo eyes, proximity sensors, limit switches, programmable logic controllers and the safety rated versions of all of these components.
Over loads, circuit breakers, fuses, transformers, GFCI outlets, 3-phase motors, and disconnect switches.
Variable frequency drives, servo drives, and DC drives
Reed switches, latching relays, timers, solenoids, encoders, potentiometers, industrial boiler electronics, proportional valve controllers, E+P transducers, and modular operator control switches (toggle, push button, joystick, etc.)
Use RSlogix 5-500-5000 to make minor programming edits/additions in ladder logic and add new i/o modules.
Use Factory Talk Studio to add buttons and screens to HMI panels.
Use Drive Explorer/Executive to create traces, modify parameters, and monitor i/o.
Use information from data sheets, electrical block diagrams, and electrical schematics to assist with repairs and new installations.
Use Draftsight (or similar CAD program) to make modifications to electrical drawings.
Use MS Visio to markup photo scans of electrical drawings (for which the CAD model may be missing).
Record and track all temporary jumpers (electrical or pneumatic) used to keep machines running while waiting for complete repairs to be made. Follow up to ensure jumpers are removed in a timely manner.
Manage electrical documentation in physical (paper) and electronic forms; ensure schematics are up to date, easy to locate, and well drawn.
Locate unknown part numbers for any/all parts using available documentation.
Create parts lists and order parts for all self-planned project & repair work.
Track the arrival of parts and kit them so they are readily available during next scheduled PM.
Perform all physical wiring of machines & facility with wire sizes up to 8 AWG.
Perform limited repairs and wiring up to 1/0 AWG.
Print and apply labels to all wiring and terminals.
Draft panel over lays and custom labeling for control panels and other projects where assigned.
Loom, route, and manage wiring in a tidy and professional manner.
Bend & install rigid conduit from ½” to 1 ¼”
Fasten and secure conduit and boxes to metal and concrete.
Plan & execute wire pulls up to 200ft, coordinate & train helpers for complex pulls.
Fabricate basic mounts for photo eyes, proximity sensors, boxes, and other devices using break, shear, band saw, drill, taps, grinders, and MIG welder.
Broken bolt extraction & thread repair.
Read and understand hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
Troubleshoot pneumatic & hydraulic components: cylinders, valves, pilot operated valves, booster valves, throttles, checks, & motors.
Service pneumatic operated friction brakes and clutches.
Roller chain repair; measuring & tensioning correctly for the application.
Roller bearing and sprocket replacement, using pullers, cutting keys, and dimpling for set screws
Stitching and replacing belts from 4 to 15 inches in width – correctly tensioned and tracked
Troubleshoot and repair of material handling roller conveyors.
Thread & fit pipe for water, steam, and air.
Makeup hydraulic lines up to 1 inch
Painting, brush, roller, and spray.
Work at heights using ladders, man lift, and boom lift as needed to complete work orders.
Kneel, crouch, bend, and work with hands over shoulder height as needed to complete work orders.
Work in hot environment (warehouse is shaded and air circulates well but there is no air conditioning).
Lift up to 80lbs.
Stand or walk on uneven surfaces.
Follow the best practices of 5S as they apply to your work.
Strong circuit theory
Candidates must be willing to work alternative shifts, weekends and overtime as required. Minimum qualifications for consideration are a high school degree (or equivalent experience) and five years of maintenance experience with at least one year with the same employer. Highly-qualified candidates would possess a technical degree or apprenticeship certification and maintenance experience in the corrugated industry or similar manufacturing environment.
