Fibers Area Process Leader
The Fibers Area Leader is an integral part of the Fibers Business Unit Manager’s Lead Team responsible for providing leadership and direction for the safe and efficient operations of the Fibers organization. The position is responsible for one single vessel hydraulic continuous digester, two pressure knotters and subsequent screen rooms, one Brown Stock Washer, one Decker, one high consistency Oxygen Delignification System, a 3 stage Bleach Plant, and one ClO2 plant. This is a lead position with the responsibility of assisting the Business Unit Manager in leading the Fibers Department and working with the Maintenance FLL, Maintenance Planner, OMC, ME staff, four shift FLL’s (who are shared with the Power & Recovery area), and 26 hourly team members. This position will serve as the mill’s PSM coordinator and will be responsible for developing the training and safe operating procedures for the team members. Other responsibilities include coordinating production activities with maintenance, quality control, peer production areas and procurement to obtain optimum production and utilization of process equipment and human resources. This position is also responsible for maintenance and reliability of the Fibers area. Maintenance and reliability will be performed in accordance with the Reliability Road Map. The Fibers area is expected to be kept neat, clean, organized and following 5S procedures under direction of the Area Leader. The high performance team will use Manufacturing Excellence toolbox methods to consistently improve operations and efficiencies to achieve 3 percent year over year improvements. The Franklin Mill has a collaborative work environment, where all departments and all their employees work with any other department of the mill to achieve mill goals. Personnel from different departments will be moved to other departments when needed to assist operations or maintenance from a whole mill perspective. The Fibers Area Leader is responsible for filling in for the Fibers Business Unit Manager in his absence.
BS Degree (engineering discipline).
4+ years of progressively responsible assignments in a manufacturing area
