Pay Rate: $20.62

We currently have an opening for a Finishing Machine Operator at our Griffin Facility. We are looking for a motivated individual who can function in a flexible, fast paced production environment. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality, and productivity. This facility is in the process of moving to a 24/7 production schedule. The Finishing Machine Operator will be assigned to one of the 2 night crews (7p to 7a).

Finishing Machine Operator duties/responsibilities include:

- following all safety rules and practices; - learning customer requirements and specifications by reading factory work orders, print cards, and design specifications; - directing the activities of other machine crew members to efficiently set up and run orders; - maintaining quality and production standards as required by the company; - performing reporting functions; including entering data into plant and/or equipment computers, and filling out quality certificates, checklists, and/or other required paperwork; - setting and adjusting the prefeeder and feed sections of the machine; - working with printing inks; including installing inks, checking and maintaining proper pH and viscosity levels, verifying colors against standards, removing inks, and washing print stations; - working with printing plates and pull straps; including obtaining and installing plates, removing and asiding plates, washing plates during runs, and washing plates at the ends of runs and shifts; - setting and adjusting the slotting, scoring, and/or die cutting sections of the machine; - adjusting impression and register (both through and across machine) settings on all stations; - setting and adjusting the folding section of the machine and the glue application system - performing minor cutting die repairs; - continually monitoring the quality and quantity of production; - solving quality and production problems; - informing the supervisor of safety items and maintenance needs; - maintaining teamwork within the machine crew and with all other associates; - following prescribed practices in all circumstances; - performing other duties as assigned by supervision.

Finishing Machine operators report to converting supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The qualifications for Machine Operators are the ability to meet the requirements of the job with or without accommodation; the ability to read, write, and speak English; the ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler; the ability to use basic shop math; the ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team. A high school diploma (or GED) is required. One to two years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is required. Experience in the corrugated or converting industry, (previous Flexo/Die Cutter experience) is preferred.
