Perform inventory and material management function at the Henderson Mill to secure goods for the facility in accordance with Global Sourcing policy and produce results that contribute to the facility’s business objectives. The position reports to the Purchasing and Stores Manager and will be located at the Henderson Mill.Position level will depend upon experience and education of the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt and professional inventory management services to internal customers by communicating effectively with the Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance areas

  • Ensure purchased goods are of acceptable quality and meet established specifications and requirements

  • Operate the shop crane and forklift as needed to load and unload shipments

  • Adhere to IP Corporate financial and purchasing policies and procedures

  • Promptly handle material receipts, issues, and outbound shipments to ensure stable supply and timely availability of materials and services

  • Manage procurement of materials for MRP

  • Serve as the Repair Coordinator for all stock and non-stock materials

  • Manage the kitting process and area; report unavailable or unused materials to Maintenance and the Facility Buyer to identify potential returns or vendor expedites needed

  • Conduct monthly inventory review meetings with Maintenance and Reliability

  • File inventory management documents promptly. Coordinate the transfer of Purchasing and Stores documentation to the Document Control room as required by IP’s record retention requirements

  • Perform inventory counts for 100% of all onsite and offsite materials with quantity on hand by year-end. C9 materials shall be inventoried twice a year.

  • Identify and implement initiatives for optimizing storeroom inventory

  • Aid in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Storeroom

  • Attend Morning Meetings, MWS, and other meetings as agreed upon with the team. Provide a report out of critical mill issues and tasks for team to follow up on.

  • Support mill safety initiatives

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to wear all required personal safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, hearing protection, and fall protection in elevated positions.

  • May be required to work extended hours/alternate schedules and must be available for weekend call.

  • Must serve as backup for Purchasing and Stores Manager and the Facility Buyer

Estimated Scope

  • Stores Inventory Value: $4.5 - $6MM

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years purchasing/storeroom experience is preferred

  • Pulp and Paper and Industrial Manufacturing experience is preferred

  • Effective Written & Verbal Communication Skills

  • Proficient in Computer Use

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook

  • SAP Business Software Knowledge Preferred

Education : Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
