The Spacekraft Converting Superintendent provides production leadership across the Indianapolis box facility and has responsibility for overseeing all production supervisors and employees in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, inventory and housekeeping. In addition, they will work to lead and motivate employees to work efficiently and effectively, ensuring a safe work environment and a quality product. Additional responsible include but are not limited to:
Establishing high morale within your department by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems.
Ensuring compliance of all quality checks; coordinate upkeep of machinery with Maintenance team to minimize downtime; assist in troubleshooting machine problems.
Ensuring accuracy of production counts and inventory levels.
Overseeing the training of employees, planning and assigning work.
Reporting to the Site Manager any issues that might affect overall production or plant operations.
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
College and/or technical coursework preferred.
Supervisory experience of 3+ years is required.
Previous experience of leading other supervisors is preferred.
Experience in a corrugated packaging industry is preferred.
Experience in project development, team leadership, and process capability analysis is preferred.
Knowledgeable of continuous improvement methods such as Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.
Experience with facilitating problem solving and process improvement activities.
