This individual will be responsible for:

  • Managing capital projects ranging from $10,000 to $5,000,000.

  • Developing Capital Investment Proposals (CIP) in the IP EPAD system, implementing the approved projects to meet the proposed objectives stated in the CIP and tracking the spending in SAP.

  • Responsible for all aspects of the project development and managing a project team to improve the mill’s reliability and cost position through the proper evaluation and selection of equipment to meet the mill’s project objectives. The project manager will guide the project development efforts to ensure the project improves the mill’s reliability, maintainability of equipment and processes, as well as improving the operability.

  • Ensuring that the most cost effective implementation of the project is implemented and that IP Corporate specifications and standards are met.

  • Expected to be able to manage between 9-12 projects ranging from $10,000 to $5,000,000 each and all phases between development and implementation.


  • A BA or BS degree is required or equivalent experience based on proven academic/work background

  • Ten + years experience in capital projects or detailed design. Paper mill or manufacturing facility and project management experience preferred.

  • Experience in a team-based, customer and quality-focused organization.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety.

  • Demonstrated ability for developing and implementing manufacturing systems.

  • Problem solving, issue resolution, and change management (internal & external) skills.
