International Paper, a world leader in industrial packaging, is currently seeking candidates for the position of Tractor Trailer Driver at its Container Plant in Mt. Carmel, PA facility.

Qualified applicants must have a Class A CDL license, excellent driving record, and be able to perform the physical aspects of the job. This position requires regular lifting, loading and pushing/pulling. A pre-employment physical, background check and controlled substance test is required.

International Paper offers an excellent wage ($21.00 hr) and benefit package for the selected candidate including health, dental, pension and 401(k) plan.

Truck Drivers at IP, Mount Carmel are required to do the following:

  • Perform pre-trip inspections of Tractors and trailers consists of approx. 15 minutes of walking, squatting, and bending to perform safety inspections.

  • Complete paperwork, signing Bill of Ladings, completing a “Driver’s Vehicle Inspection Report”, approx 5 minutes.

  • Working on on-board computer as a means of completing “Driver’s daily driving logs”, approx 10 minutes during the course of the day.

  • Climbing in and out of Tractors as needed.

  • Driving a Tractor Trailer combination for periods of 30 minutes up to 240 minutes between stops.

  • Hand cranking landing gear to hook and unhook trailers from 2-8 times per day. Each time takes approx 2 minute to perform.

  • Hooking and unhooking air lines and electrical lines from 2-8 times per day. Each time takes approx 2 minutes.

  • Opening and closing trailer doors from 2-8 times per day. Each time takes approx 1-2 minutes.

  • Occasional assistance straightening out units of product at a Customer’s dock {not required}

  • International Paper drivers are not required to load or unload product. All product is loaded and unloaded with the aid of fork lifts.

  • Drivers are home daily.
