International Paper, a world leader of Industrial Packaging, is currently seeking applicants for the position of an Industrial Mechanical / Electrician Technician at the Gilroy Contain Plant (We are a union facility).
Responsibilities and Duties Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: •Follow all plant safety rules and work in a safe manner •Troubleshoot, repair, modify and rebuild mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components. •Weld, braze, solder and perform simple machine work when required •Install and remove machinery as needed. •Follow preventative and predictive maintenance plans. •Must be able to use a computer and capable of using SAP maintenance software •2-4 years of direct electrical and mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment •Install wiring and conduit for newly installed and existing equipment such as conveyors, programmable controllers, converting and corrugating machinery •Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices such as proximity switch timers, scanners and photo electric devices •Diagnose and repair/replace faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards •Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems •Troubleshoot drives, i.e. AC and DC •Read electrical block diagrams, schematics as well as PLC ladder logic •You must have your own tools
Candidates must be willing to work alternative shifts, weekends and overtime as required
Qualifications and Skills Minimum qualifications for consideration are a high school degree or equivalent, and five years of maintenance experience with at least one year with the same employer. Highly-qualified candidates would possess a technical degree or apprenticeship certification and maintenance experience in the corrugated industry or similar manufacturing environment.
The hiring process for successful candidates will include a pre-employment aptitude test, team interview, pre-employment background check, health assessment screen and drug screen.
