Position Title

Chief Boiler Operator 1st Shift

Pay rate

Starting at $35.90

Sign-on Bonus:

$1000 after 30 days

$500 after 6 months

$500 after 1 year

Category/Shift:

Hourly Full time

1st Shift (7am-3pm)

Monday to Friday with some additional required weekend days.

The Job You Will Perform:

We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are capable of performing a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced production environment. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality, and productivity.

  • Operate and maintain high and low-pressure boilers, fire system equipment, and auxiliary equipment

  • Monitor and test boiler water chemistry and level, chemical, and fuel levels

  • Perform minor pipe repairs

  • Replace worn parts, including valves and filters

  • Ensure optimal and continuous operation of mechanical systems by performing routine inspections and maintenance, monitoring metering equipment and adjusting levels as necessary

  • Maintain systems by scheduling regular inspections, cleanings, filter replacement and all other tasks necessary to keep all components performing optimally; identify and repair or replace malfunctioning components

  • Ensure safety by monitoring/testing safety equipment/devices, identifying potential issues and taking appropriate steps to suspend operations and repair the problem

  • Perform necessary repairs and replacements, obtain replacement parts and upgrade components as needed while staying within the budget

  • Lead team of operators and delegating repair, maintenance and monitoring tasks, scheduling jobs, and providing appropriate instruction.

  • Study to keep current on knowledge of all applicable safety laws and regulations in order to ensure full compliance at all times

  • Create and enter properly documented records of operation, inspections, maintenance routines, repairs, and safety activity

  • Sustain up-to-date knowledge of developments in relevant technology and make recommendations for overhauls and upgrades

  • Make adhesive used in corrugating process

  • Operate wastewater treatment equipment and ensure water discharge meets POTW standards

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Minnesota Chief B Boiler License or higher

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Detail-oriented and highly safety-conscious

  • Strong trouble-shooting skills

  • High school diploma or GED certificate

  • Welding experience a plus

  • Driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Physical stamina

  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management system

  • Ability to work well as part of a team

  • Ability to read, write and speak English

  • Must be willing to work OT including Saturdays as needed
